Professional Experience:

November 2008 to Present: Level Designer - Snowblind Studios

  • The Lord of the Rings: War in the North
    Working on maps for upcoming Action-RPG with an emphasis on cooperative multiplayer gameplay. Currently implementing gameplay systems such as triggers, pathing, enemy placement, scripting, etc. Developed graybox geometry, documentation, and Visio diagrams.

May 2004 to August 2008: Game Designer III - Sandblast Games (THQ, formerly Cranky Pants Games)

  • Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon (2005 - August 2008)
    A third-person sci-fi sandbox game built with Unreal Engine 3. Worked on 3 of the game's 5 cities, with 1 from conceptualization to final implementation. Scripted and maintained over 20 missions of varying complexity. Developed graybox layouts during preproduction.
  • Evil Dead: Regeneration (May 2004 - 2005)
    A third person hack-and-slash action game. Scripted and maintained 3 of the game's 10 levels using proprietary tools in Maya along with Lua scripting.

Summer 2003: Researcher

  • Conducted research work for Lewis & Clark College's Computer Science program. Investigated the optimization of packet splitting in distributed networks. Attended a supercomputing conference to present the results of the research.

January 2003 to May 2004: Teaching Assistant

  • Worked with professor in a Computer Science course designed to introduce non-CS majors to fundamental problem solving concepts in Computer Science through HTML and Javascript.

Education:

August 2000 to May 2004: Lewis & Clark College. Portland, Oregon.
Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Mathematics. Courses completed include calculus, linear and discrete mathematics, second-year Japanese language courses, computer algorithms and architecture, software development, neural networks, graphic design and fiction writing.

September 1996 to May 2000: Riverdale High School. Portland, Oregon.
Graduated with honors. Served as editor for school newspaper and was a writer for the newspaper's video game review section.
